Owls Are A Hoot!

Ok, bad joke but great experience! I spent a couple of days near Fort Lauderdale and a friend suggested I go to Brian Piccolo Park in Hollywood to photograph the Burrowing Owls. What the heck is a burrowing owl you ask? Well apparently these little guys (and girls) live in holes they burrow in the ground. The park has roped off their "homes" but you can still get as close as 10 feet to them. They just sit on the ground looking around at every little noise. This is the only birding photography I enjoyed. The birds are relatively still and you don't need a 500 mm lens to get a decent shot. Plus they are cute with their bright yellow eyes! Palm Beach Sculpture Gardens

After a month and a half of being out of the photography loop (due to moving and painting and settling in our new house), I jumped back in with the group and traveled to Palm Beach to photograph the sculpture gardens on the island. It was a beautiful place to wander around and take in the colorful gardens. My favorite sculpture, "Sior Maschera" by Philip Jackson is pictured here. Click here for more sights of the gardens.

Peterson's Grove

Just a couple shots from Peterson's Groves in Vero Beach. There is a great collection of old equipment and glassware that made for some interesting photos of Old Florida. Click here for more.

Another Sunrise

So I was dragged out of bed well before the crack of dawn by my photo buddies for another sunset. Yes I complained but it ended up being worth it! The show of bold colors that streaked across the sky was beautiful and made for a very picturesque morning. Take a look at what Grant had to offer.
